Casual Reception & Admin Support Role – Cockburn Allied Health Practice

Allied Health for Wellness is looking for a warm, organised and compassionate Reception and Administrative Support Officer to join our friendly Cockburn team. This role would suit someone who is confident communicating with a wide range of clients, including people experiencing mental health challenges, and who can remain calm, professional and supportive in a busy allied health environment. We need someone who can provide reliable clinic coverage.

Role details:

  • Location: Cockburn
  • Days: 2–3 days per week
  • Hours: Hours and days will be discussed with suitable applicants. We are looking for availability that supports clinic coverage and business needs, while also being open to a mutually workable arrangement to suit school hours where possible.
  • Start date: Immediate
  • Type: Casual with potential to transition to permanent part-time

Why this role may suit you:

  • Balanced flexibility: This may suit someone returning to work or looking for school-hours-style flexibility, provided the arrangement also meets clinic coverage and business needs.
  • Supportive team: Join a warm, inclusive allied health practice that values wellbeing and professionalism.
  • Potential for ongoing work: Casual with the possibility of permanency

What you’ll be doing:

  • Scheduling client appointments with care, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Responding to client enquiries by phone and email in a calm, respectful and professional manner
  • Providing sensitive front-desk support to clients who may be distressed, anxious or navigating mental health concerns
  • Issuing invoices and processing client payments
  • Reviewing incoming correspondence and directing it appropriately
  • Supporting practitioners with administrative requirements
  • Managing the Outlook inbox and keeping communication organised
  • Processing integrated Medicare claims
  • Assisting with NDIS funding administration

About you: Previous experience in a medical, allied health, mental health, psychology or reception role would be highly regarded. Experience with Zanda  (formerly known as PowerDiary) would be a bonus, but we’re also open to someone with strong administrative skills, a friendly manner and a willingness to learn. The right person will be patient, discreet, non-judgemental and able to communicate with empathy while maintaining clear professional boundaries.

Please share this role if you know someone who may be a great fit!
