Peta is an experienced psychologist, dedicated to providing compassionate, individualised care for adults across a broad range of presentations. Her areas of interest include:
Peta is a trained EMDR therapist with a particular interest in attachment wounds and the ways early relational experiences shape emotional wellbeing. She adopts an integrative and flexible approach to therapy, drawing from EMDR, somatic and nervous system-informed approaches, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT).
With a previous background in secondary education, Peta also brings valuable insight into educational systems and family dynamics, supporting parents and families to navigate school-related, behavioural, and parenting challenges. In addition, Peta has extensive experience supporting veterans, individuals living with acquired brain injuries, and injured workers throughout rehabilitation and recovery processes.
Alongside her professional experience, Peta also brings lived understanding of parenting and neurodivergence within family systems, supporting a compassionate, practical, and affirming approach to care.
Peta’s therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, person-centred, and neuro-affirming. She aims to create a space where clients feel safe, understood, and able to explore their experiences without judgement. She works alongside clients to better understand patterns, experiences, and protective strategies that may no longer be serving them, while supporting change at a pace that feels meaningful and sustainable.
Peta provides consultations from our main practice in Cockburn Central as well as seeing clients by telehealth or in our visiting rooms located within The Village Medical Practice Harrisdale and Castelgate Family Practice Woodvale.
